Leon comments on Mazibuko’s departure
The former DP leader made the comments at the Cape Town Press Club this afternoon.
CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) must choose a Parliamentary leader who will remain in the position, former opposition leader Tony Leon said on Tuesday.
He made the comments at the Cape Town Press Club this afternoon.
Leon's talk coincides with the launch of his new book, Opposite Mandela.
The former Democratic Party (DP) leader says he met Lindiwe Mazibuko several times and she is courageous and highly intelligent.
Leon says it's a pity she decided to quit her role as Parliamentary leader, adding there has been a high turnover of people in that position.
He says it is in the DA's best interests to select someone strong and fearless to take up the position in the National Assembly.
Leon says although he hasn't received a call, he won't be putting up his hand for the job.
