IEC: Grabouw ballot boxes accounted for
The IEC says it has proof ballot boxes found at a home in Grabouw have been accounted for.
CAPE TOWN - The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in the Western Cape says it has documents to prove ballot boxes found at a house in Grabouw are accounted for.
The Overberg District Municipality mayor opened a case of fraud after two ballot boxes were found at a house in the area at the weekend.
Provincial IEC head Courtney Sampson has denied allegations of electoral fraud.
"There is a result slip with the signature of the presiding officer and the party agents, which means that the ballots are counted and that they're in the boxes where they belong for the roll back of the IEC."
