CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has been praised for the way in which it deals with complaints about basic services and other municipal issues.

The city came out tops in the independent SA Customer Satisfaction Index (SAcsi), with more than 70 percent of those surveyed saying they are happy with their municipal services.

Eight of the country's largest metros were surveyed.

These include the City of Johannesburg and the City of Tshwane.

Adre Schreuder headed up the study.

He says, "The degree to which that complaint is handled efficiently, is called complaint handling efficiency and Cape Town's is 47.9 percent whereas the others are below 40 percent and as low as 28.1 percent out of 100."
