JOHANNESBURG - Mamelodi Sundowns are 90 minutes away from securing their first league title since 2007 and all they have to do is get past SuperSport United in Tshwane on Wednesday night.

Midfielder Teko Modise has spoken on the importance of winning the league title for Sundowns.

The title win will be Modise's first major trophy in football and he shares what it would mean for the club.

"It's not only important to me, it's important to the team because we have gone so many years with no silverware. The president [Patrice Motsepe] has been investing every year, buying players every year. It will be fair for us to do our best and win something for him."

But Sundowns's opponent SuperSport United won't be looking to gift them a with a victory and will want to halt the Brazilians' nine match winning streak.

Meanwhile, second placed Kaizer Chiefs can still mathematically win the league but they would need for Sundowns to not win both games.

With this logic in mind former Chiefs player Neil Tovey has ruled his former side out of causing an upset in the last two games.

"I can't see it happening now, not because mathematically they can't, but because they are not playing with much confidence anymore and I can't see Sundowns slipping in the two matches. They are bound to win at least one of them."

At the bottom of the table Golden Arrows could be relegated when they take on fellow Durban side Amazulu.

Abanfana'Bestende could have their fate sealed with a loss to Craig Rosslee's men.

Bloemfontein Celtic will be looking to continue with their good form when they host Ajax Cape Town tomorrow.

They have lost just two games since the end of February.

Ajax, meanwhile, will travel with a depleted squad yet again.

Defender Thulani Hlatswayo recovered from a concussion but now has the flu and isn't available for the game.

They will welcome back captain Dominic Isaacs, while Nazeer Allie and Abubaker Mobara travelled with the team.

All matches kick off at 7:30pm.
