JOHANNESBURG - North West police are searching for five people who assaulted a non-striking mineworker near Rustenburg.

The employee from Aquarius Mine was attacked allegedly by Associated Mineworkers Construction Union (Amcu) members who've been on strike since January.

The police's Thulani Ngubane said they already have two people in custody.

"Anybody involved in wrong intentions in the platinum belt will be investigated and brought to book, two suspects have been arrested."
