JOHANNESBURG - North West police have sent a docket relating to the deaths of three children to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further investigation.

The trio, aged four, six and 10, were left in a locked car in Mahikeng earlier this week while their mother and father visited a pharmacy.

The children allegedly suffocated to death.

When their parents returned they realised their children were not well and rushed them to hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

The police's Emelda Setlhako says no arrests have been made yet.

"A case of inquest was registered and has been sent to the DPP for a decision."
