Top cop discharged from hospital

JOHANNESBURG - Police said a senior officer who was wounded in an attack at his home in Johannesburg has been discharged from hospital.
The cluster commander of Pretoria central, Major General Daniel Mthombeni, was shot during a shootout with intruders at his home last week.
Two armed men attacked him before making off with two cellphones.
The police's Solomon Makgale said a special task team is still investigating.
"He was shot on the shoulders but the bullet was removed and he was a put in ICU as a precaution but the doctors are satisfied with his recovery. We're still at the early stages of the investigation."
