Vavi: I have no time for revenge
Zwelinzima Vavi says he harbours no grudges towards those who tried to unseat him.
CAPE TOWN - Congress of South African Trade Union (Cosatu)'s general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi says he has no time for vengeance as he tries to reunite the trade union federation.
Vavi addressed a shop stewards council in Cape Town last night.
He was suspended for eight months after admitting to having sex with a junior Cosatu employee last year, but was reinstated following a court ruling.
The politician says he harbours no grudges towards those who tried to unseat him.
"Those who were saying we are full of vengeance we're going to make everybody pay and going to know those who were plotting will be disappointed. I have no time to chase servants."
Meanwhile, Cosatu confirmed last week that Vavi, will be on the campaign trail in the run-up to the elections, encouraging people to vote for the ANC.
Vavi has openly criticised the ruling party and accused its senior leaders of plotting to oust him.
Cosatu said the firebrand politician would join other national office bearers, as they intensified electioneering across the country.
The trade federation's president Sidumo Dlamini said he would defend Vavi from those who threatened to dump him if he campaigned for the ANC.
