Delft hit and run suspect in court
It's alleged the drunk driver veered off the road and knocked down two children.
CAPE TOWN - A motorist arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run incident in Delft is expected in court this morning.
The man fled the scene after he allegedly ran over and killed two children at the weekend.
It's alleged the driver was under the influence of alcohol when he veered off the road and knocked down the two children on Symphony Way.
Western Cape transport MEC Robin Carlisle said, "National government has taken away the provinces' weapons to fight drunken driving. We don't have breathalysers and name and shame for reasons which I don't understand."
