Crossbow killer to appear in court today

JOHANNESBURG - A man accused of killing his wife with a crossbow while she was praying is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court today.
The 39-year-old victim was found dead in the couple's east rand home last Thursday.
The man dubbed the 'crossbow killer' is expected to be formally charged with murder today.
The accused allegedly shot and killed his wife during evening prayers last Thursday.
The Council of Muslim Theologians has labelled the crime utterly appalling and plan to monitor the accused's court appearances.
The council also wants to send an Imam to visit the alleged killer with the hope they may be able to uncover the motive behind the murder.
