JOHANNESBURG - One person has been killed and two others injured following an accident on the N2 near Sibaya in KwaZulu-Natal.

It's understood the vehicle veered off the road and overturned earlier on Sunday.

Paramedics say a woman sustained life threatening injuries.

Three people have been injured after two cars collided on the N2 near the Tongaat Plaza.

Paramedics say the occupants were rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

WESTERN CAPE ROAD FATALITIES DECREASE

The Western Cape Transport Department says road fatalities during the Easter weekend have decreased when compared to last year.

Five people have been killed in the province this weekend compared to 14 last year.

However, more than 35 people have been killed nationwide.

Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says they are also targeting drunk drivers.

"We arrested 46 drunk drivers, 19 on Friday evening and 27 last night. The highest reading was recorded in the Brackenfell area with a reading of 1.33."
