JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police have arrested a man for allegedly raping two children in Zola, Soweto.

Police say the children, a 7-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, were at the man's spaza shop on Sunday when he allegedly called them into his house and raped them.

The 45-year-old man was arrested at his home last night along with 69 others during a police raid in the area.

The police's Kay Makhubela says a medical exam has confirmed that the children were raped.

"The kids informed the parents and the parents took the matter to the police to open a case. The kids were then taken to the doctor for examination."
