JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has laid a complaint against the South African Broadcasting Corporation after the public broadcaster allegedly refused to air the party's election adverts on TV or radio.

Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has 48 hours to respond to the official opposition's complaint.

The DA's Geordin Hill-Lewis says they're ready to take legal action if necessary.

"We would just be happy to get our radio and television adverts back on the air then after that we will consider legal action."
