CAPE TOWN - Police are yet to make arrests in connection to the shooting of an 18-year-old boy in a suspected gang related shooting in Mitchells Plain on Friday.
The victim's body was found on an open field in Beacon Valley.
The police's Frederick Van Wyk says' "Upon the member's arrival, they discovered an 18-year-old man with multiple bullet wounds to his body lying in an open field next to the street.
"Anyone with information is kindly requested to contact the police."
Meanwhile, residents of Mitchells Plain took to the streets on Saturday morning saying they are tired of gangsterism and drugs.
The local Community Policing Forum (CPF) said it would rally local residents to join anti-crime initiatives in the area.
This is the latest in a number of demonstrations where community members and leaders have been pleading for peace.
