Greenpeace urges SA action on whale meat
The group wants authorities to prevent a shipment of whale meat from entering SA's harbours.
CAPE TOWN - Greenpeace says if the South African government refuses to take action against a ship transporting whale meat, it will be undermining its own environmental policies.
The group has called on South African authorities to prevent a massive shipment of whale meat, destined for Japan, from entering any of the country's harbours.
Greenpeace's Shanaaz Nel says it's important for government to act swiftly on the matter.
"We feel that without taking action, South Africa will be undermining its own conservation efforts moving forward."
