Saldanha cops arrest 26 for public violence
Petrol bombing and stone throwing erupted in the West Coast town on Wednesday night.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police say at least 26 people have been arrested in connection with stone throwing and petrol bombing incidents in the West Coast town of Saldanha Bay.
Violence erupted in the town on Sunday and again on Wednesday night.
It's understood the incidents may be gang-related, involving mostly youngsters.
The police's Frederick van Wyk says, "No community members were injured, four houses were petrol bombed and stones were thrown. Only property was damaged, cases of public violence was opened, no one has been arrested as yet."
