Expert to testify in Rheenendal inquiry
A mechanical expert will take the stand at the inquiry into a bus crash that killed 14 school children.
CAPE TOWN - The lawyer representing the families of the Rheenendal bus crash victims said a mechanical expert, whose testimony is vital in the case, will take the stand today.
They were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off a road outside Knysna and plunged into a river in 2011.
Lawyer Jerald Andrews said, "He was brought in by the police to investigate the bus. He's been in the business for 20-odd years, investigating these accidents. The only witnesses left are the owner of the bus company and the owner of the testing station."
