20 protesters to appear in Tzaneen court
The suspects were found in possession of thousands of rands, furniture and building material.
JOHANNESBURG - Twenty people arrested on charges of public violence in the Maake Township near Tzaneen are expected in court this morning.
The suspects were taken in at the weekend, with some found in possession of thousands of rands, furniture and building material.
Police believe the goods were looted from foreign-owned shops during a service delivery protest in the area last week.
The police's Hangwani Mulaudzi said, "Most of the service delivery protests are associated with crime and we're happy that 20 people have been arrested."
