JOHANNESBURG - Police say they are moving in on more suspects after a seventh person was arrested in connection with a plan to kill detectives investigating Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir.

The case relates to an alleged conspiracy to murder Colonel Nkosana 'Killer' Ximba from the police's national crime intelligence unit and private investigator Paul O'Sullivan.

The police's Solomon Makgale says officials are on the tail of other potential suspects.

"The team is working very hard to ensure we arrest the individuals involved but we have been very meticulous in how we have been going about it because we want to make sure that we have solid evidence on each and every person we arrest."

Meanwhile, Krejcir himself was denied bail for a third time last month.

He is standing trial for kidnapping, attempted murder and assault in connection with an apparent drug deal gone wrong.
