‘Matjila knows the field well’
Energy expert Chris Yelland says the incoming Eskom CEO has a significant mixture of knowledge.
JOHANNESBURG - Incoming acting Eskom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Collin Matjila has a significant mixture of knowledge about different sectors relating to the job, energy expert Chris Yelland said on Friday.
The parastatal on Thursday announced he would take over from outgoing CEO Brian Dames from 1 April.
Matjila will take over temporarily, the energy giant said.
He will become a non-executive board member again once a permanent CEO is appointed.
Yelland says Matjila knows the field well.
"He has local government experience, [National Energy Regulator of South Africa] Nersa experience and Eskom experience. He has been exposed to a broad range of activities in the electrical sector."
