‘Poo war’ ringleaders reinstated

Andile Lili and Loyiso Nkohla were expelled from the ANC in February.

Two former Cape Town councillors implicated in the so-called toilet wars have been reinstated as ANC party members.

CAPE TOWN - Two former Cape Town councillors implicated in the so-called toilet wars have been reinstated, the Western Cape ANC Disciplinary Committee said on Monday.

Andile Lili and Loyiso Nkohla were expelled from the party in February after being labelled as the ringleaders behind the Mother City "poo wars".

The protest was against the municipality's new portable toilet system.

Human waste was dumped at Cape Town International Airport and the Western Cape Provincial Parliament during these protests.

The two ANC members later appealed the decision to suspended and expel them.

The ANC disciplinary committee's Fezile Calana said some processes were flawed.
