CAPE TOWN - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt on Wednesday said his side will use tonight's university derby to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to Free State Stars.

The Clever Boys take on AmaTuks in Pretoria tonight.

Hunt says his third-placed side cannot get complacent ahead of the season run-in and must prove they are up for a fight by getting three points.

"We're trying to bounce back from Saturday's defeat and hopefully, we can get a good result tonight. It doesn't matter how many points you've got, you're always looking to improve. Tonight will be another challenge for us and hopefully we'll be up for it. We want to get three points tonight and then we'll take it from there."

Wits are nine points behind Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) table.

The Clever Boys have to play five of the top eight PSL log teams between now and the end of the season.

Hunt believes his side will need to be at the top of their game if they are to end the season as high up on the table as possible.

"Every game is going to be big until the end of the season. Like it always is every season, every team is fighting for something now, whether it is relegation, winning the league or securing a place in the top eight. I know from experience that every game now is a fight."

Midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi has been the standout performer for Wits, scoring seven goals so far this season.

Hunt says despite his stellar form, the 24-year-old still has more to offer.

"I know he's scored seven but for me, he should have had 17 goals by now. He's had a good season so far, but he still needs to work harder. Hopefully I can get more out of him."
