Bulls draft in Potgieter, Mastriet
The Pretoria-based side named two changes for Saturday’s Super Rugby clash against the Sharks.
JOHANNESBURG - Bulls coach Frans Ludeke has named his side to take on the Sharks at Loftus Versveld on Saturday evening.
The men from Pretoria will look to become the first team to beat Jake White's team this season.
Ludeke has made two changes to his side with winger Sampie Mastriet coming into the side for Akona Ndungane, who has been given compassionate leave following the passing of his father.
Experienced loose forward Dewald Potgieter has returned from Japan and goes straight into the starting line up at eighth man, relegating Jono Ross to the bench.
Bulls captain Flip van der Merwe is confident his side will celebrate on Saturday night.
"We just focus on what we need to do. It's a local derby, so of course it is a big match. It will be good to see the Bulls fans laughing at the Sharks if we win."
Ludeke is elated to be able to welcome Potgieter back into the team.
"I think one thing that stands out about Dewald is his work rate. He plays for 80 minutes, and he is a player that creates big moments in terms of turnovers and carrying the ball. His strength is his work rate."
