CT EFF blames ANC for lockout

EFF members were locked out of a hall where the party planned to hold a mini-rally on Saturday.

The EFF in Cape Town blames the ANC for its members being locked out of a hall where the party planned to hold a mini-rally Saturday 8 March 2014. Picture: Supplied.

The EFF says it booked the Johnson Ngwevela Hall in Langa well in advance for today's event, which was meant to start at two o' clock.

The party had a bad start to its official election campaign in the Western Cape.

EFF's head of security Happy Mahambane says they're surprised as everything was planned properly and in advance.

Members wearing the party's red t-shirts and trademark red berets earlier began to leave while others were still waiting outside the hall.

Mahambane says preparations for the party's provincial manifesto launch in Khayelitsha next week are on track.
