CAPE TOWN - Lions coach Johan Ackermann has made a host of changes to his squad to take on the Sharks at Kings Park Stadium on Saturday

Ackermann has opted for consistency in his forward selection, with the only change seeing hooker Willie Wepener coming into the starting line-up in the place of Robbie Coetzee, who shifts to the bench.

The Lions backline has been almost entirely reshuffled, with only scrumhalf Faf de Klerk and centre Stefan Watermeyer retaining their places in the side. Fly half Elton Jantjies has recovered from his shoulder injury, and makes an immediate return to the starting line. As a result, Marnitz Boshoff shifts from 10 to fullback. Chrysander Botha moves from fullback to left wing, resulting in Ruan Combrinck moving across to the right wing. Deon van Rensburg, who started at right wing against the Bulls, will start at outside centre.

On the bench, rookie front rower Corne Fourie has earned selection and will look to make his Super Rugby debut on Saturday.

The match kicks off at 7:10pm.
