JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane is to deliver her State of the Province Address (SOPA) in Johannesburg today, where she is expected to focus heavily on job creation and crime.

The premier will today be delivering her fifth SOPA and will be expected to highlight the visions and goals for the province ahead of the elections.

Gauteng has been hit by violent service delivery protests in the past few months, which has seen several people killed and public property damaged.

It's estimated the damage for the past year is sitting at around R65 million.

Mokonyane will also have to address how she plans to grow the economy, create jobs and infrastructure as well as fight crime.
