JOHANNESBURG - The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) on Thursday took a swipe at Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

It says it is concerned about the integrity of her office.

The League has been outlining plans for a music festival this weekend in Tembisa on Gauteng's East Rand as part of its election campaign for the ruling party.

It also highlighted grievances with opposition parties and Madonsela.

ANCYL national convenor Mzwandile Masina described the protector as mischievous.

"We think that there is something wrong with the public protector. I know that there is so much excitement in South Africa about [her], but we think she's doing a disservice in that particular office."

Masina says Madonsela's recent report on the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is littered with lies.

He also claims her findings on President Jacob Zuma's private Nkandla home are not credible.

Masina said it was concerning that the Nkandla report was leaked.

He is confident the president will be exonerated of any wrongdoing.
