The bodies of two schoolgirls and a man were found in Soweto this morning.
JOHANNESBURG - Three dead bodies have been discovered in Soweto this morning.
In Dobsonville, police found the bodies of two schoolgirls in an open field.
Details are still sketchy, but forensic specialists are on the scene.
The police's Neville Malila says both bodies were dressed in school uniform and had cuts to the body and the neck.
"Three razor blades were found on the scene. All our crime scene experts are currently checking the scene for more evidence," says Malila.
Meanwhile, in Meadowlands police found the body of a man who is believed to have been shot dead during the looting of foreign-owned shops in the area overnight.
The man's body was discovered in a field this morning after police managed to force the crowd of people back to the nearby hostels.
It's not clear whether the man who died was part of the demonstration, or who killed him.
Locals in Meadowlands have been protesting since yesterday as they are unhappy about their hostel accommodation and a lack of services in the area.
