Diepsloot body: Post-mortem released
Police say there are no signs the young girl was sexually or physically abused.
JOHANNESBURG - Post-mortem results show no signs that a young girl found under a bridge in Diepsloot was sexually or physically abused, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.
The body was discovered in the northern Johannesburg township at the weekend.
Police say they are not ruling out the possibility that the girl drowned.
But officials believe her body may have been dumped in the secluded area.
Gauteng Deputy Police Commissioner Tebello Mosikili says two families have come forward, but the girl is yet to be identified.
"The DNA sample has been taken to the families who have come to view the child."
Police have now released a reconstructed photograph of the child.
