CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Liquor Authority has targeted errant liquor license holders and managed to close down two establishments.

Harsh penalties were also given to a further two outlets for selling alcohol outside their required trading hours.

It forms part of several blitz operations which were conducted across the province over the last three months.

Economic Development MEC Alan Winde says, "This is just an ongoing line of inspections and making sure that we continue to push for responsible behaviour within the liquor trading environment in the Western Cape."
