JOHANNESBURG - Goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa will miss Orlando Pirates' clash against Free State Stars tonight, having failed to recover from stomach cramps sustained during Pirates 1-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

Back-up goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is expected to replace Meyiwa in goal for the clash.

Some good news for Pirates on the injury front is the return to training of defender Patrick Phungwayo, who ruptured his Achilles tendon during the MTN8 final last year.

Pirates' spokesman Mickey Modisane hopes the defender will be available for the team soon.

"Patrick Phungwayo has started training with the team. He's working on his fitness and strengthening, and we're just praying that very soon we could see him coming back to bolster our defence."

The fixture between Free State Stars and Orlando Pirates kicks off at 7:30pm.
