JOHANNESBURG - Golden Arrows on Monday announced it will part ways with coach Mark Harrison.

Harrison, who was appointed five months ago, leaves the club bottom of the log.

He also missed Saturday's fixture against Polokwane City.

Club spokesperson Vusumuzi Vilakazi confirmed the departure.

"We have parted ways with Mark Harrison today [Monday]. Obviously, the reason is that the team wasn't doing well. Since he wasn't on the bench on Saturday, he was in talks with the boss. They've reached an agreement to let each other go."

Vilakazi confirmed Shaun Bartlett and Bheka Phakathi will take charge of the team until the end of the season.

"There is no specific mandate that has been given to them, but they are aware of the needs of the team. They have been around for quite some time. The fact that they are former players and they understand the situation that our players are in, made us feel that it would be good to give them a chance."
