Residents protest near Sir Lowry's Pass

Authorities have closed a road leading to the Sir Lowry's Pass Village due to protest action.

CAPE TOWN - A section of a road leading up to Sir Lowry's Pass Village, near Somerset West has been closed due to a protest action.

Protesters have taken to the streets this morning, but it's unclear what they are demonstrating about.

Police are keeping a close eye on the situation.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says, "We closed off the road going from the N2 Highway towards the village due to the protest action. But the N2 itself is open to traffic."
