High police presence in Zithobeni
Police are keeping an eye in Zithobeni where a service delivery protest has broken out.
JOHANNESBURG - There is high police presence in Zithobeni in Bronkhorstspruit where a service delivery protest has yet again turned violent.
Violence first erupted last week with residents demanding improved services.
The protestors claim they are being charged too much for water and electricity.
The police's Neville Malila says they are monitoring the area.
"Zithobeni is currently quiet. It's under control. We're still maintaining a high visibility in the area. There were reports of a library and a private house that were torched earlier. Nobody has been arrested."
Last week, angry protesters set a police station, municipal office and three trucks alight during a service delivery protest.
