JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates can breathe a sigh of relief after their 2-1 victory over Bidvest Wits on Tuesday night.

Clever Boys 'captain Sibusiso Vilakazi scored the first goal of the match at Orlando Stadium.

The first half was a 1-0.

In the second half new signing Helder Pelembe scored the first goal for the Sea Robbers and soon after that Kermit Erasmus scored the second goal.

Meanwhile, Roger de Sa resigned from his coach position with immediate on Friday.

Assistant coach Eric Tinkler stepped in as caretaker coach.

Tinkler applauded his men for showing "great character" in their game.

Wits are currently number five on the Premier Soccer League log and Pirates are number six.
