Hughes replaces Marsh for Aussies
Australian Selector John Inverarity says Hughes will arrive in South Africa as soon as possible.
CAPE TOWN - Phil Hughes will replace injured top-order batsman Shaun Marsh, Cricket Australia confirmed on Thursday.
The Proteas and the Aussies will play each other in February.
Australian selector John Inverarity said Marsh, who last played Test cricket for Australia in early 2012, had not recovered from a calf injury as quickly as hoped.
"He has been withdrawn from the Test squad for the tour of South Africa."
According to Inverarity, 25-year-old Hughes will arrive in South Africa as soon as possible.
