Service delivery protests in Bronkhorstpruit
More than 5,000 residents are outside a police station demanding water and electricity.
JOHANNESBURG - Police say more than 5,000 people have gathered outside a municipal office in Bronkhorstpruit, on the border between tGauteng and Mpumalanga, demanding water and electricity.
Roads have been cordoned off in the Zithobeni area but police say the protest is not violent and no arrests have been made.
Spokeswoman Sarah Mcira says residents are currently handing over a memorandum to officials.
"The people are just complaining about their services. They are taking a memorandum to the municipality office."
