Paramedic wounded in gang crossfire
A 24-year-old female paramedic was wounded during a shootout between rival gangs in CT.
CAPE TOWN - A paramedic has been wounded following a shootout between rival gangs in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town emergency medical services officials confirmed on Monday.
The incident occurred in Tafelsig late on Sunday night.
Spokesperson Robert Daniels says the paramedic is recovering at home.
"A 24-year-old female emergency services personnel member suffered a gunshot wound to her arm. She was rushed to the Mitchells Plain District Hospital in a stable condition."
Last week, a paramedic was stabbed eight times in an attempted hijacking in Vereeniging.
The victim was also robbed of his personal belongings.
