CAPE TOWN - Proteas skipper Graeme Smith is expected to make a return to the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras side for tomorrow's Ram Slam T20 match against the Sunfoil Dolphins at Boland Park in Paarl.

Smith's return will see JP Duminy sit out the match, as coach Paul Adams reshuffles his team for the final three Ram Slam fixtures.

The Cobras consolidated top spot on the table following last night's 13 run win over the Unlimited Titans, and are on course to secure a home final at Sahara Park Newlands on 9 February.

Adams says his side needs to remain fresh as the tournament draws to an end.

"We're just taking things one step at a time. We never wanted to get ahead of ourselves and become complacent. It's important that we rest up nicely and arrive fresh in Paarl."

Adams says they're having a massive turnaround from last season when they finished bottom of the log.

"We were rock bottom last season. This season we've got some recruits in from the international arena, and they're really doing well. Hats off to them for the energy and the quality they've brought to the Cape Cobras, and we're just riding that wave for the moment."
