CAPE TOWN - Hundreds of people have gathered at the Delft South sports complex in Cape Town as the ANC in the Western Cape launches its election manifesto.

The party is also celebrating 102 years since its formation.

Hundreds of bright yellow ANC t-shirts are blanketing the sports complex in Delft South at the ANC's provincial election manifesto launch.

Officials say they will use the rally to highlight the plight of the poor in the Western Cape.

They say they're also encouraging Delft residents to register to vote ahead of the upcoming national elections.

The Cape Minstrels are marching and playing music while crowds have raised their ANC banners and flags in celebration of the political party.

A group of supporters huddled in front of the stage say it's humbling to witness the large crowds in attendance.
