JOHANNESBURG - Five people are now in custody in connection with an alleged plot to kill Private forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan and crime intelligence officer Colonel Nkosana 'Killer' Ximba.

Police say the latest person to be arrested is an intelligence officer who was allegedly providing the other suspects with software to trace their targets, who are associated with investigations relating to Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir.

The woman arrested is expected to appear in court soon.

The police's Solomon Makgale says they confiscated nine cellphones from her.

"We are making very good progress with our investigations, which led us to the arrests. The person arrested is a sergeant who is employed in the crime intelligence division of the South African Police Service."

The four suspects who were arrested last week have been charged with armed robbery, hijacking, conspiracy to commit murder, theft and possession of a suspected stolen vehicle as well as illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

They were arrested Sandton and Rivonia, appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates Court on Monday and will be back in the same court next week.
