Zuma concerned about violence in Africa

JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma has spoken out about the situations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan and the Central African Republic (CAR).

He has been attending the fifth International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).

He returned to South Africa on Wednesday night.

Presidency spokesperson Maharaj says the summit called on the African Union to strengthen and intensify its international missions in South Sudan and CAR.

"The ICGLR leaders expressed great concern at the recent outburst of violence and the worsening situation and humanitarian situation in the two countries."
