Suicidal man rescued from CT Civic Centre
The man who threatened to jump from the top of the Civic Centre has been rescued.
CAPE TOWN - Negotiators have successfully managed to remove an apparently suicidal man from the top of the Civic Centre.
Officials spent several hours trying to get him down.
After a seven-hour operation, the man who threatened to jump from the 23rd floor of the Cape Town Civic Centre has been removed from the roof top.
Negotiators apparently grabbed him and immediately sedated him.
He is currently being attended to by ER24 paramedics.
It is unclear how he managed to gain access to the building.
Earlier, he had walked dangerously close to the edge of the roof, shouting at negotiators who tried to reason with him.
He could also be seen sitting on the rooftop with his feet dangling from the edge.
