A Cape Town businessman says his account information was leaked to competitors.
CAPE TOWN - A prominent Cape Town businessman says he is positive some bank employees are selling clients' statements to individuals who want to access personal information.
The man claims account information belonging to him and his two business associates was leaked to a competitor two years ago.
The businessman told Eyewitness News he suspected something was amiss when several of his clients shifted their business dealings to his competitor.
He says two other market players in the kitchen manufacturing industry experienced a similar situation in 2012.
Eyewitness News can reveal police have arrested several suspects in Gauteng and the Western Cape over the past few months for personal identity theft.
