The So-called Durban tender queen, Shauwn Mpisane, faced a total of 53 charges, including fraud and forgery before the state dropped the charges.

JOHANNESBURG - The state has reportedly withdrawn its case against Durban businesswoman Shauwn Mpisane in the Durban Commercial Crime Court.

She was accused of submitting forged documents to obtain construction industry grading, which were used to win five Public Works Department tenders worth R140 million.

Mpisane, the so-called Durban tender queen and known for her flashy lifestyle, faced a total of 53 charges, including fraud and forgery.

She is still facing two other court cases.

One is related to her tax affairs while the other has to do with her alleged interference with witnesses.
