JOHANNESBURG - Vernon Philander will start for the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras today when they take on the Bizhub Highveld Lions in the RAM Slam T20.

The Cape-based franchise will be without Dale Steyn, who is out injured, and Justin Kemp who is unavailable due to family reasons.

Coach Paul Adams says he's happy to welcome Big Vern back into the squad.

"Vernon is making his reappearance. He had a nice little break after all his hard work in the India series, and it was a well-deserved break. We welcome him back into the squad, but we'll be missing Justin Kemp who's welcoming the birth of his second child. He'll be spending time with his family and his little bundle of joy. Vernon comes back in for him."

Adams says there will be plenty of runs on offer in Paarl.

"Boland Park has produced some great cricket over the last few years, and it's a good cricket wicket. I'm expecting an exciting game and a good run-fest. It's always going to be a tight affair. So far there have been some greatly entertaining games to watch and to be a part of, with some big stars on show as well."
