CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) says President Jacob Zuma's poor leadership means a number of his ministers continue to fail to deliver without risk of being removed.

The party has awarded Zuma an F in its annual assessment of his performance and that of his cabinet.

Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi and Science and Technology Minister Derek Hanekom received As.

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and Tourism Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk were given Bs.

The DA released its cabinet report card at Parliament on Wednesday.

Zuma's term in office comes to an end this year.

The DA says it has been characterised by job losses and corruption scandals and that is why it has given him an F in its cabinet report card.

DA Parliamentary Leader Lindiwe Mazibuko says, "I think it is a perfectly fair assessment of his term of office to say that he has failed."

Zuma and his members of cabinet were judged on a range of criterion including policy and attendance at Parliament.

Eight minister including scandal-prone Tina Joemat-Pettersson were also rated F for failure.
