Cope discusses its election manifesto
COPE will be discussing their election manifesto on Saturday night as they gather in Boksburg.
JOHANNESBURG - The Congress of the People (COPE) will be discussing their election manifesto on Saturday night as they gather in Boksburg for their national congress.
Cope's newly elected president Mosiuoa Lekota and ousted leader Mbhazima Shilowa have been embroiled in a leadership battle for the past four years.
Shilowa has lost his latest court bid to stop the party from convening this weekend.
Cope's spokesperson Johann Abrie says Shilowa is trying to derail the party, but isn't even a member anymore.
"Mr Shilowa is like dog barking at the moon. He continues to make noise and trying to derail the organisation. He failed now for the 14th time on Friday. Can't understand why he continues to try and derail the organisation and trying to make sure there's no progress."
