CHAN: Igesund focused on Bafana
Coach Gordon Igesund says his main focus is on Bafana at the CHAN tournament in CT.
CAPE TOWN - Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund says Mozambique is a bit if a closed book to them.
The national team face Mozambique in the opening match of the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, which gets underway at the Cape Town Stadium later today.
Igesund says he has been doing his homework.
"I've got some DVDs of them playing. I watched one for about an hour and a half where they played against Angola - when they qualified to come here they drew 1-1. In the team that played there, there are 10 players in the same squad now. It's very different now, they've got eight or nine new players."
The Bafana Bafana coach says he is completely focused on his own team.
"I want to focus on our team. We need to go out there and do what we have to do. I'm totally concentrating on what we have to do."
At the same time team Captain Itumeleng Khune says he is happy with where the team is at.
"I'm very happy that all of us are competitive at training and looking sharp. We're all looking forward to the game."
The opening ceremony gets underway at 4pm, with kick off at 6pm.
