Hewitt rape case postponed again
Tennis champ Bob Hewitt has missed another court appearance due to ill health.
BOKSBURG - The rape and sexual assault case against former tennis champion Bob Hewitt has been postponed to 9 May.
The crimes were allegedly committed in the 1980s when he was coaching girls under the age of 16.
Hewitt's lawyer said he did not appear in court today because he is still not well.
Last year Hewitt missed his court appearance apparently also due to ill health.
One of his alleged victims Sueellen Sheehan says she doesn't believe he is ill and says she feels he is too afraid to face his victims.
The case has been postponed for the centralisation of dockets because the offences happened in different areas.
A trial date will only be set at the next court appearance.
